People who are longsighted can see distant objects clearly but close objects are blurred. The rays of light come together behind the retina instead of on the retina. This causes a blurred image. 

Long-sightedness can be corrected with a plus prescription. The concentration of the light rays is bounced forward onto the retina and this results in a sharp image. A longsighted person that wants to go through life without glasses or contact lenses can have an ARTISAN^® or ARTIFLEX^® lens implanted. Other surgical procedures for replacing glasses are also possible.
