Long-sightedness People who are longsighted can see distant objects clearly but close objects are blurred. The rays of light come together behind the retina instead of on the retina. This causes a blurred image.
Long-sightedness can be corrected with a plus prescription. The concentration of the light rays is bounced forward onto the retina and this results in a sharp image. A longsighted person that wants to go through life without glasses or contact lenses can have an ARTISAN® or ARTIFLEX® lens implanted. Other surgical procedures for replacing glasses are also possible.
